Job Title: Sport Nutrition Specialist

Canadian Sport Institute Ontario is seeking a highly skilled Sport Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Performance Services business unit, you will play a critical role in supporting high-performance athletes and coaches in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition programs for targeted sports and athletes.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to plan and deliver nutrition support in the daily training environment.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and develop personalized nutrition plans for athletes.
  • Provide comprehensive nutrition support at competitions and training camps.
  • Work with Sport Physicians to review blood work and formulate recommendations for athletes.
  • Deliver interactive sport-specific presentations and cooking classes to enhance athlete knowledge and practical skills.
  • Evaluate research to maintain a current evidence base on sport-specific nutrition practices.
  • Analyze and communicate performance data to athletes, coaches, and IST members.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in human nutrition and dietetics with an educational focus on sport nutrition.
  • Registered Dietitian.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a high-performance sport environment.
  • CPR and AED certified.
  • Defined data handling and management skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing innovative ideas and putting them into practice.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Sport System.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sport Scientist Canada High Performance Certified Practitioner.
  • ISAK certification (level 1 or higher).
  • Current training in Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) techniques for body composition and bone density.
  • Advanced data handling and management skills.
  • Background as a high-performance coach or athlete.
