As a Toolmaker, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and servicing precision tooling and special-purpose machinery. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality and timeliness of our products, which are used by leading life sciences companies to improve the lives of people around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build precision tooling and special-purpose machinery
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of products
  • Set up and operate various machine tools, including manual lathes and small mills
  • Apply knowledge of mechanisms, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to support the assembly team
  • Run small to medium projects and provide project status for weekly team meetings
  • Support the needs of the manufacturing department and ensure that all print updates are completed
  • Participate in the debug/integration of the line and perform rework efficiently to ensure minimal impact to budget and schedule
  • Assemble and assist in testing activities related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components
  • Provide mechanical support during the duration of debug/integration and acceptance
  • Participate in tear down and shipping of the equipment and be an ambassador for ATS at the customer's site

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Qualification as a Machine Tool Builder and Integrator or Tool and Die Maker or equivalent
  • Completion of a Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certification of Qualification in the above-mentioned trades
  • Two years hands-on experience in integrating and assembly of custom factory automation
