Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Overhead Transmission Lines Engineer to join our team at The Engineering Institute of Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safe engineering solutions for high-complexity projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safe engineering solutions for high-complexity projects and operations, ensuring they meet major scope requirements for major utilities in Western Canada.
  • Conduct independent studies and analyses, contribute to the development of technical standards, recommend safe designs, and provide mentorship to enhance the future capabilities of our engineering team.
  • Develop and administer procedures, methods, and controls for planning, scheduling, cost control, and technical conformance, ensuring a consistent and robust Engineering Standards process.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, review project schedules, resources, and budgets, and monitor expenditures to ensure project completion is safe, high-quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Plan, organize, and direct complex engineering and geoscience activities, making critical technical decisions and recommendations to ensure successful project implementation and resource management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on transmission lines. You should have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
