Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team at Manitoba Hydro International. As a key member of our software development group, you will work independently or as part of a team to design, develop, and maintain software products that meet the needs of our customers and internal engineering users.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain software products using industry-standard design and development processes.
  2. Collaborate with other team members to ensure that software products meet the required standards and are delivered on time.
  3. Participate in requirements gathering and maintain an understanding of the application domain for which the product is applied.
  4. Work closely with other members of the software products group to ensure that software products are developed and maintained in accordance with established processes and best practices.
  5. Author and maintain progress documents describing project work and communicate progress to other group members as required.

Requirements

  1. A four-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing.
  2. Experience with C++, C#, and Python programming languages.
  3. Knowledge of Git or similar version control systems.
  4. Experience working with Microsoft Foundation Class and/or Microsoft.NET Frameworks.
  5. Knowledge of SQL and XML database technologies.
  6. Demonstrated ability to analyze, plan, control, and make decisions related to the development of engineering-oriented computer systems and applications.
  7. Self-motivated, with demonstrated initiative to work in a fast-paced, open environment.
  8. Strong work ethic, ability to work in a team, and willingness to learn new skills.
  9. Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  10. Solid understanding and experience developing Object Oriented solutions.
  11. Excellent organizational and time management skills with emphasis on detail.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position with a contract length of 24 months. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a team of experienced software developers.

Language

English is the primary language of communication in this role.

Location

This position is based in person at our office location.
