Job Title: Baker

Fred's Bread is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in a permanent position. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing dough for various baked goods, requisitioning materials, and supervising baking personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Bake mixed dough and batters.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Draw up production schedules.
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Overtime required.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Repetitive tasks.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Tight deadlines.
  • Work under pressure.
Working Conditions:

The Baker will work in a fast-paced environment with a large volume bakery. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
