About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our office, you will be responsible for supporting our growth and achieving our strategic objectives in the natural resource and renewable energy industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to prepare deliverables that meet BBA and client standards.
  • Develop and review design deliverables to ensure high-quality results.
  • Lead, supervise, train, and mentor junior engineers during project execution, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Perform site inspections, testing, and commissioning at client sites to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Create project scope of services, budgets, and schedules, communicating effectively with clients throughout the process.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with power distribution systems in the mining, industrial, or municipality sectors.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents, including reports, specifications, design drawings, studies, plans, and instructions.
  • Practical knowledge of MV & LV distribution in industrial plants, including single line diagrams, site layouts, panel layouts, schematics, grounding, and lighting.
  • Practical knowledge of motor control and drive.
  • Practical knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Experience preparing HV/MV/LV electrical equipment specifications.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project estimates.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA, and international destinations for short-term assignments.
