Finance Director

Job Title: Director of Finance and IT

About the Role:

The District of Sparwood is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and IT to join our team. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our municipality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Finance:
  • Develop and manage the District's financial plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses
  • Administer the District's funds and monitor financial expenditures
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to inform decision-making
• Risk Management:
  • Identify and evaluate risks to the District
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy
• Asset Management:
  • Develop and implement an asset management plan
• Information Technology:
  • Manage the District's IT functions, including hardware, software, and network services

Requirements:

• Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance administration, with municipal experience an asset
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with Council, staff, and the public

• A competitive salary range of $100,000 to $137,000
