Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team at Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre. As a Radiation Therapy RVT, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care to our patients and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage appointments, including history taking, physical examinations, medical record keeping, and invoicing.
- Perform procedures such as preparing patients, setting up equipment for radiation treatments, radiography, and CT scans.
- Participate in the on-call anesthesia rotation and assist with anesthetics for patients.
- Provide inpatient care, including facilitating treatments, diagnostic work-ups, and monitoring ill hospitalized patients.
- Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services, clients, and patient treatments.
- Communicate effectively with clients and referring hospitals.
Requirements:
- Registered Veterinary Technologist in Alberta.
- Preference given to candidates with a minimum of three years of experience as an RVT, ideally in an emergency or referral setting.
- Experience in providing general anesthesia and monitoring in dogs and cats.
- Ability to think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time-management skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
