Position Overview

The Health Sciences Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Unit Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support services under the supervision of our experienced healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care and provide basic supportive care as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of patient care services.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our facility's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Previous patient care experience is preferred.
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course is required.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Physical Requirements

  • The position involves extensive physical activity, including lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
