Job Description

Sinai Health is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to provide clinical support in General Internal Medicine at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

The primary duties of this staff Physiotherapist include clinical work, primarily with inpatients admitted to the general internal medicine units on weekends or holidays. There may be opportunities for weekday work if available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and provide therapeutic interventions for assigned patient caseloads according to physiotherapy scope of practice.
  • Compile accurate documentation of physiotherapy activities.
  • Participate in discharge planning and record workload measurements.
  • Supervise Physiotherapy Assistants as per college guidelines.
  • Participate in inter-professional clinics, rounds, and discussions.
  • Teach students from other disciplines and mentor fellow colleagues, if appropriate.
  • Assist with other department/unit responsibilities or duties, as required.

Requirements:

  • Current registration and active membership/license in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Strong experience in interdisciplinary education.
  • One (1) year of recent and related experience in the treatment of clients/patients.
  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent physiotherapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups, including experience working with geriatric populations.
  • Experience and skill in complex decision-making processes and advancing best practice initiatives and exploring innovative models of care.
  • Experience in self-reflective learning and ability to adapt and respond effectively to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional, diplomatic, and confident, with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
