Job Overview

We're currently seeking an experienced Assembly Craftsperson to join our team in train manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling mechanical, structural, and electrical components on commercial products, ensuring they meet company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble complex mechanical, structural, and electrical components using engineering drawings and instructional sheets.
  • Interpret quality assurance directives and perform checks to ensure installations meet quality standards.
  • Rivet and assemble sheet metal, tubing, bars, and extrusions, as well as install decals on sub-assemblies.
  • Clean commercial products, including washing and applying cleaning compounds as required.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, such as upright drills, sanders, grinders, deburring machines, drill sharpeners, and routers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in assembly and fabrication of mechanical, structural, and electrical components.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and instructional sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This estimate is based on industry standards and location.
