Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our pharmacy services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the safe and effective preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care for acute care beds and LTC beds, including assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems.
- Manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
- Support drug distribution functions with the technician and/or assistant team at the site.
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient care teams and rounds, and actively contribute to professional practice development and growth.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
- Addition Prescribing Authority (APA) or awaiting results from APA application.
- Prac ID for lab ordering.
- Recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years).
- Recent Rural Hospital experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
