Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our pharmacy services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the safe and effective preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for acute care beds and LTC beds, including assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems.
  • Manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Support drug distribution functions with the technician and/or assistant team at the site.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient care teams and rounds, and actively contribute to professional practice development and growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Addition Prescribing Authority (APA) or awaiting results from APA application.
  • Prac ID for lab ordering.
  • Recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years).
  • Recent Rural Hospital experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
