At The Heico Companies LLC, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the development of custom equipment. This role will play a crucial part in designing and creating mechanical components and systems that meet the highest standards.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in product development, creating detailed engineering documentation, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, preparing 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation, supporting project planning, conducting analysis of components and systems, including basic FEA, coordinating with suppliers, and participating in prototype testing and validation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project coordination in custom equipment or heavy machinery;
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks; basic understanding of FEA and ERP/MRP systems; experience with mechanical design, including gears, drives, and hydraulics is an asset;
  • Strong analytical skills and good understanding of materials; knowledge of DFM/DFA and GD&T is preferred;
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
