Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of jewelry products from external vendors by meticulously inspecting them to match SKU requirements. This role also involves inspecting new jewelry for defects before approving it for distribution to our division stores. Additionally, the Quality Assurance Specialist will oversee the accurate entry of Quality Assurance statistics and manage RTV paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect fine goods, including diamonds, gemstones, and finished jewelry.
  • Document inspection results and enter gemological data into our computer database.
  • Notify relevant personnel of any discrepancies in orders promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with our Maryland service team to address customer requests.
  • Utilize standard, high-tech, and specialty gemological testing equipment for examinations and data collection as needed for research projects.

Requirements

  • Graduate Gemologist with GIA Credentials preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of diamonds, precious stones, semi-precious stones, and jewelry manufacturing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrated high standard of workmanship, including experience with gold, platinum, and other precious metals.
  • Ability to assess jewelry quality and extract data using advanced gemological equipment.
  • Team player with the ability to support colleagues and work effectively under supervision.
