Powerline Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Powerline Technician Apprentice to join our team at Michels Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture, performing work in accordance with construction and installation plans, and assisting in the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.

• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform work in accordance with construction and installation plans, standards, inspection and test plans, safety and technical procedures, repair, and maintenance requirements on Transmission, Distribution, and Substation.
• Assist in the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.
• Work in conjunction with other trades and contractors to ensure timely completion of work.
• Inspect and confirm safe operation of tools, instruments, devices, and mobile equipment.
• Complete general site maintenance, including clean up, and assisting other workers on site as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Blue Book or proof of apprenticeship as an Apprentice Linesman.
• Experience with distribution work.
• Experience with line line work.
• Experience operating powerline equipment.
• Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
• Experience working with SaskPower is an asset.
• Successful completion of pre-access requirements (online training, verification of tickets and apprenticeship, satisfactory D&A test).

• Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
