Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Powerline Technician Apprentice to join our team at Michels Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture, performing work in accordance with construction and installation plans, and assisting in the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.
Responsibilities- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform work in accordance with construction and installation plans, standards, inspection and test plans, safety and technical procedures, repair, and maintenance requirements on Transmission, Distribution, and Substation.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.
- Work in conjunction with other trades and contractors to ensure timely completion of work.
- Inspect and confirm safe operation of tools, instruments, devices, and mobile equipment.
- Complete general site maintenance, including clean up, and assisting other workers on site as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Blue Book or proof of apprenticeship as an Apprentice Linesman.
- Experience with distribution work.
- Experience with line line work.
- Experience operating powerline equipment.
- Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
- Experience working with SaskPower is an asset.
- Successful completion of pre-access requirements (online training, verification of tickets and apprenticeship, satisfactory D&A test).
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
