The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Learning Coach, Intercultural and English Language Specialist to join our team. This permanent, full-time position will report to the Director, Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation and will focus on planning and delivering support for overall student academic experience and success at Olds College, with particular attention to the learning needs of international and English as an additional language learners (EAL).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, organize, and analyze information about learners to advise students towards academic achievements.
  • Provide individual academic coaching tailored to specific student needs.
  • Assist with writing and presentation skills.
  • Design and facilitate college skills group sessions to support academic success.
  • Deliver relevant supplemental English language skills bridging.
Enhancing Student Academic Experience
  • Research and remain current with relevant scholarly information on student learning and success.
  • Contribute to various college working groups specific to student success and international student experience.
  • Include remote and satellite campus students in support initiatives.
  • Develop resources to support student academic success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline (Education, International Relations, Social Sciences, Counseling).
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience within the field.
  • Experience with international students and supporting English as an additional language.
  • International experience (having lived, worked, or studied abroad) and proficiency in a second language will be considered assets.
  • Display high emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.
