Salary and BenefitsThis role offers an estimated salary range of $55 - $65 per hour, with contractor status. As an independent contractor, you will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule and choose your own projects.
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, and specialized seating and positioning assessments. You will identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations, consult with local vendors, and complete applications for funding. Additionally, you will provide informal education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs, and adaptive aides.
You will also provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention, and record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart as per guidelines established by the College of Occupational Therapists.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have registration with the Provincial Association of Occupational Therapists and experience in Long Term Care, preferred. You will also need to have a valid Vulnerable Sector screening check and Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance within 6 months.
