About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at the Benevolent Society Heidehof For the Care of the Aged. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Nursing Care: Take vital signs, administer medications, and provide wound care, working closely with our nursing team to ensure seamless care.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding: Prepare and serve nutritious meals, and assist residents with feeding, ensuring their dietary needs are met.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and safe environment, performing light housekeeping and laundry duties to ensure our residents' living spaces are comfortable and hygienic.
  • Companionship and Social Interaction: Engage with residents, providing emotional support, companionship, and social interaction, helping to prevent loneliness and isolation.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, administering first aid and providing care in crisis situations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: Experience an asset, with a strong understanding of nursing care principles and practices.
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, and Health Care Aide Certificate.
