Aquatic Attendant

The Municipality of North Cowichan is seeking a qualified Aquatic Attendant to join our team at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre. As an Aquatic Attendant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for the public. This includes operating the waterslides, assisting or leading aquatic programs or activities, and performing custodial duties. You will also be required to work weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and shift work. If you are self-motivated, enjoy working in a team environment, and are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the waterslides and assist with aquatic programs or activities
- Perform custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Work weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and shift work
- Assist with the delivery of innovative aquatic programs, services, and events
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of age and completion of Grade 8
- Possession and maintenance of valid current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid or AEC certifications
- Demonstrable theory, practical skills, and abilities related to water rescue, safety, and prevention, program content and delivery, and communication
