We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Octopus Academy Inc. as a permanent employee.

Job Summary

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for leading activities, encouraging creativity, and engaging children in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and be able to establish a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain a collaborative relationship with coworkers and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations.

  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
