Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to work in our Float Pool and be assigned to the IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit. In this role, you will assess, plan, coordinate, and manage care for ALC patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan care for ALC patients and families
  • Coordinate and manage care in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team
  • Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements:
  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
  • Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
  • Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
  • Functions independently within scope of practice
  • Computer literacy in current software applications
