About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at Romko Residences LTD. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients as needed
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments
  • Maintain patients' rooms, including making beds and ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support as needed
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure adequate stock levels
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients as needed
  • Transport patients between care facilities and within the facility as required
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond accordingly
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations

Work Environment:

As a Nursing Care Support Worker, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under pressure. You must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail. You will also be required to work a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout your shift.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, and move patients as needed
  • Ability to work a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout your shift
