Job Title: Cashier Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Cashier Assistant to join our team at Canadian Tire. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

About the Role:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment, interacting with customers from diverse backgrounds and ages. You will be required to accurately process transactions, manage cash handling, and maintain a high level of product knowledge to provide recommendations to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cash register accurately and efficiently
- Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments
- Scan items and tabulate total payment for goods or services
- Receive payment for goods or services
- Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and cleaning counter areas
- Participate in promotional activities and suggestive selling

Requirements:
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a retail environment
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Accurate and reliable with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
