Oyato Food Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Buyer to join our team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in procuring high-quality merchandise for our wholesale establishment/store and retail business.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and Maintain Contact with Suppliers: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of merchandise.
- Maintain Adequate Stock Levels: Analyze sales data and inventory levels to determine optimal stock quantities and ensure that merchandise is always available to meet customer demand.
- Negotiate Prices, Discounts, Credit Terms, and Transportation Arrangements: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices, discounts, and credit terms, while also arranging for efficient transportation of merchandise.
- Provide Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to merchandise availability or quality.
- Review Requirements of Establishment and Determine Quantity and Type of Merchandise to Purchase: Collaborate with sales teams to determine customer needs and preferences, and use this information to select the right merchandise for purchase.
- Select and Purchase Merchandise for Resale: Source high-quality merchandise from suppliers and negotiate prices to ensure maximum profitability.
- Visit Trade Shows, Showrooms, Factories, and Product Design Events: Attend industry events to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and products, and to identify new opportunities for Oyato Food Inc.
- Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Work Setting: Urban area, wholesale establishment/store, retail business, or rural area.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel regularly, cross-border, and for extended periods. Public transportation is available.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, tight deadlines, and attention to detail.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, and a team player.
English is the primary language of communication in this role.
Work Hours:35 hours per week.
