Job Description

Spectrum Health Care, a renowned healthcare organization in Canada, is seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of Personal Support Worker. This position plays a vital part in our healthcare system, allowing individuals to recover safely from acute illnesses or remain in their homes throughout the aging process.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, and feeding, in personal residences or facilities.
  • Continuously assesses, anticipates, identifies, and responds to new and changing needs of patients, communicating available resources when appropriate.
  • Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Staff are required to travel within assigned regions between patients' residences or facilities.
Qualifications
  • Hold one of the following qualifications:
    • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program.
    • RN/RPN Student who has successfully completed at least one year of the program.
    • Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods, lifting 23 kg independently, and assisting clients with standing, walking, sitting, and repositioning in bed.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • Updated immunization record, including TB Test (within the last 12 months).
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills; additional language skills are considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and location. Spectrum Health Care offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings options.
