Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Equitable Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting CMHC-insured commercial credit facilities, ensuring compliance with our established lending guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and underwrite CMHC-insured commercial credit facilities, ranging in size from $30MM-$150MM, and ensure compliance with our lending guidelines and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with external contacts, including origination partners, and internal contacts, such as funders, managers, and commercial mortgage sales staff, to ensure timely and efficient transaction processing.
  • Manage your deal flow to meet prescribed deadlines and ensure timely completion of administrative and reporting duties.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of commercial mortgage market trends and factors affecting the industry.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of commercial mortgage underwriting experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Strong business sense and technical knowledge of secured lending.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingualism.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
