About the Role

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of medicines prepared in aseptic units, as well as providing guidance and support to colleagues across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit aseptic units as an auditor to assess their performance against nationally agreed standards
  • Provide feedback to senior pharmacy leaders and document findings in iQAAPs, the NHS's electronic system
  • Collaborate with the QA team to produce guidance on webpage format to facilitate consistent advice and implementation in sites across the country
  • Assist with a wide range of enquiry answering as a member of the SPS regional team for North East and Yorkshire

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology & Quality Assurance or equivalent experience
  • Basic qualification in pharmaceutical sciences (BTEC) or equivalent scientific qualification
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in Good Manufacturing Practice, risk management, and quality management systems
  • Experience of auditing and self-inspection to meet pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
