Risk Control Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Risk Control Specialist to join our team in Montreal.
About the RoleThis position involves acting as a support counselor on all risk control and risk engineering considerations. You will work closely with senior consultants to prepare and produce risk reports, conduct site surveys, perform loss estimates, and develop risk control templates.
Responsibilities- Support senior consultants in preparing and producing risk reports, including underwriting reports, risk assessments, and recommendation reports.
- Conduct property site surveys at client facilities to assess risks and identify potential hazards.
- Perform loss estimates calculations to help clients understand potential losses and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain risk control templates and documents to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Work with brokers to provide information on risk exposures and insurer subjectivities to facilitate the placement process.
- Advise clients on risk exposures and control measures to minimize losses and optimize risk management strategies.
- Support research and development practices on technical issues and considerations related to risk control and fire protection.
- Bachelor's or college degree in engineering, fire protection/prevention, or applied science diploma.
- At least one year of experience in industrial site inspections, risk control, and/or fire protection is an asset.
- Knowledge of building construction and related codes, and building mechanics, is also an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to help clients address risk challenges.
- Bilingualism in French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel (including VBA).
- Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
