The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our food processing facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment, boilers, and water treatment systems
  • Perform rounds and conduct checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Respond to operations requests for services and take action to rectify deficiencies
  • Monitor water distribution and take corrective action as needed
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and other team members to ensure seamless operations

Requirements:

  • 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license or refrigeration B and three to five years' experience in a shift/operating engineer role
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration is an asset
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts with overtime as required
  • Preference will be given to applicants holding a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license
  • Wages $33.94 per hour, plus $0.75/hr premium
