Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre in Surrey, BC. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing dietetic practice in accordance with patient/client needs, consistent with established departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess patient/client needs and develop effective care plans, taking into account current dietetic practice, standards, and clinical protocols.
  2. Provide consultation and education to patients, families, caregivers, and staff on nutrition-related topics, using effective communication skills.
  3. Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and quality initiatives, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, leveraging your expertise in nutrition and dietetics.
  5. Participate in research projects, clinical trials, and surveys, providing input into the planning and formulation of research questions and study findings.
  6. Develop and maintain rapport with patients, families, caregivers, and staff, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned, utilizing your skills and abilities to support the team and organization.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science (BSc) program in Nutrition from an approved educational institution and successful completion of an approved dietetic internship program.

Current registration in the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes, as required.

  • Ability to develop effective patient care plans.
  • Ability to provide effective consultation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with patients, families, caregivers, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to plan, implement, problem-solve, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including applicable software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
