About This Opportunity
Black & McDonald's Western Utilities team is growing, and we're looking for a dedicated and collaborative individual to join our hard-working, innovative team. As a URD Foreperson, you'll be responsible for leading general activities on year-round underground URD distribution construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a URD team to accomplish project milestones in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Coordinate material pickup and delivery.
- Direct tradespersons (Electrician/Gas Fusers) as required.
- Provide direction and guidance to heavy equipment operators and signal operators.
- Assist in installing various utilities and being familiar with specification requirements.
- Operate pneumatic tools, tampers, and tools as directed.
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites.

Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
Work Experience Requirements
- 5 years' experience working in the construction industry as a URD Foreperson, on utilities (electrical/civil) projects.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Possess a valid Alberta Drivers License, Class 5 (or 3), and a clean drivers abstract
- Experience in reading and interpreting utility locates/blueprint drawings, and ordering materials
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- Construction Safety Certifications
