About the Role

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing financial analysis and supporting the Controller in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes producing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, mastering the general ledger, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Transaction review and coding
  • Reconciling intercompany transactions and cross billings
  • Compiling working papers for review
  • Preparing financial statements and note disclosures in compliance with ASPE
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Project cost analysis as required
  • Interacting with auditors and preparing year-end audit files
  • Assisting with special projects as required

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in financial reporting
  • Advanced computer skills (accounting software and MS Office)
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, multi-task, and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Highly organized
  • Flexibility to work on projects as a team member and also independently
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to focus on details and accuracy
  • Professional accounting designation or working towards completion, considered an asset
