We're looking for a seasoned professional to fill the role of Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the Government of Alberta.

In this position, you'll be responsible for providing strategic intergovernmental advice for client ministries. You'll also support Alberta's participation in various fora, including the Council of the Federation and sector-specific ministerial meetings. Representing the Ministry in intergovernmental meetings and participating in the negotiation of intergovernmental agreements to ensure Alberta's intergovernmental interests are represented are key aspects of this role.

To excel in this position, you'll need to possess excellent negotiation skills to advocate for Alberta's interests and build consensus. Sound judgement and strategic thinking are also essential to distill and synthesize complex information. Additionally, strong relationship-building and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders are necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a related university degree (e.g., Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Business, Social Sciences, etc.), supplemented by at least four years of related experience. Strong understanding of government structures, operations, and decision-making processes in the Alberta government and/or other Canadian governments is also required.
