Georgetown University Studio Director Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Studio Director to join our team at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our LG Digital Broadcast Studio, ensuring seamless execution of teaching and learning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all studio equipment, including lights, cameras, mixing consoles, and video switchers.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software, troubleshooting and correcting hardware and software problems as needed.
  • Provide classroom AV support and regular event support, with a focus on studio duties and responsibilities.
  • Train and support staff on the operation of technical equipment, promoting a positive end-user experience.
  • Collaborate with University IT and Operations staff to ensure equipment readiness and functionality.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least four years of experience with studio equipment and troubleshooting ability.
  • Hands-on experience in system installation, configuration, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Knowledge of audio/video, VTC, and broadcast equipment, including teleprompters, monitors, cameras, and connectivity to support video transmission.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, customer service skills, and a willingness to take initiative and lead the problem-solving process.
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and train end-users on the operation of technical equipment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with other people in a team-oriented environment.
