Job Title: Character FX Artist

We are seeking a skilled Character FX Artist to join our team at Sony Pictures Imageworks. As a Character FX Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual effects for our productions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement character external features such as hair, fur, and cloth to meet art direction.
  • Meet productivity and quota targets while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Participate in writing utility scripts and software code to streamline the simulation development process.
  • Collaborate with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant software including Maya, Linux, UNIX, and scripting ability in relevant languages including MEL, Perl, and Python.
  • 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate in a related field, or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $26.44 - $53.80/hr.
  • Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
