Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Learning Coach to join our team at York Region District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instructional leadership and support to teachers in the area of literacy and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers on effective literacy strategies and assessment techniques
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement formative and summative assessments
  • Model and coach instructional strategies for teachers
  • Plan and facilitate professional development workshops for adult learners
  • Experience in teaching in an ESL environment and cross-cultural teaching is an asset

Requirements:

  • Valid Nunavut teaching certificate
  • Experience in reading processes, acquisition, assessment, and instruction using balanced literacy strategies
  • Experience in collaborative support to students in the effective implementation of formative assessment and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with formative and summative assessment implementation, reporting, and analysis

What We Offer:

  • Salary range: $83,643 - $131,151 prorated/annum
  • Nunavut Northern Allowance: $23,292 prorated/annum
  • Government housing may be provided and sharing may be required
