Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

As a construction specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures. You will also be responsible for supervising a team of 3-4 people and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in noisy environments
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
