We are seeking a detail-oriented construction cost estimator to join our client in the Waterloo area. This role is perfect for a professional with experience estimating projects for a general contractor, particularly in the industrial sector. If you have a strong background in cost estimation and are passionate about driving successful project outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the project team to assess project scope, review plans, and determine accurate costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project costs throughout the bidding process.
- Participate in tender submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Communicate with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, to provide updates on costs, budgets, and revisions.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with cost estimates.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards, trends, and regulations that may affect cost estimates.

The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction cost estimating, preferably within the industrial sector.
- Experience working with a general contractor is required.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
What We Offer
- A competitive base salary of $70,000-$90,000 per year
- Bonus opportunities
