Job Description:

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a Camp Team Leader to lead a team of students in planning and implementing a high-quality summer children's camp program. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating program activities, as well as supervising staff and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement program activities, including games, arts and crafts, and physical activities
  • Supervise a team of students and ensure they are actively engaged in program activities
  • Ensure program activities are safe and accessible for participants
  • Communicate with parents and staff as needed
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of the summer camp program

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education in a recreation or child and youth related program
  • One or more years of experience in program planning
  • Previous experience working as a Camp Leader or in a similar camp environment

Certifications:

  • Current Certification in Standard First Aid/CPR
  • Certified with the High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Occasional weekend hours

Working Conditions:

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions
