About Our Client

We are seeking a detail-oriented ICI Estimator to join our client in the Waterloo area. This role is perfect for a professional with experience estimating projects for a general contractor, particularly in the industrial, civil, or ICI sectors. If you have a strong background in cost estimation and are passionate about driving successful project outcomes, we want to hear from you.

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial, civil, or ICI construction projects.
  • Collaborate with the project team to assess project scope, review plans, and determine accurate costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project costs throughout the bidding process.
  • Participate in tender submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, to provide updates on costs, budgets, and revisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with cost estimates.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, trends, and regulations that may affect cost estimates.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction cost estimating, preferably within the industrial, civil, or ICI sectors.
  • Experience working with a general contractor is required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
