Accounting Technician/Bookkeeper Role

Baker Tilly CK is a dynamic public accounting firm that excels in providing exceptional tax services to a diverse client base of owner-managed businesses and farm enterprises. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide bookkeeping support to clients and internal professionals, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  • Handle various accounting service assignments, including general ledger postings, account reconciliations, and report generation from accounting systems.
  • Efficiently manage compilation engagements, including direct client interaction for queries, requirements identification, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the team's success and growth.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping and accounting practices, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QBO, Sage 50, QuickBooks desktop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping applications like Dext or Caseware is a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexibility to meet the unique needs of clients, including occasional travel to client locations.
  • A team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to collaboration and open communication.
