About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Technician Trainee to join our team. As a Communications Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for learning and developing the skills necessary to install, repair, and maintain telecommunications cabling systems.

Job Description

This is an entry-level role that provides opportunities for growth and development in the communications industry. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Learning about telecommunications cabling systems and their installation and maintenance requirements;
  • Assisting senior technicians with day-to-day tasks, including conduit installation, cable pulling, and equipment testing;
  • Developing your problem-solving and technical skills through on-the-job training and manufacturer-provided courses;
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have some experience in an industrial environment and possess good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical skills. A safety-first mindset is essential, and you should be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

A valid Alberta Class 5 Operator's License or equivalent is also required. Reliable transportation to and from the office/shop is necessary.
