About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Worker to join our team at Newrest. As a General Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and food preparation areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and portion food ingredients according to established guidelines and recipes.
    • Measure and package food items for storage and distribution.
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food for service.
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive and store food and supply deliveries.
    • Count and record inventory levels to ensure accurate tracking.
    • Restock shelves and storage areas as needed.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and utensils.
    • Follow proper sanitation and hygiene procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
    • Report any equipment or facility issues to management.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to resolve issues and address concerns.
    • Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in food service or a related field preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work Schedule
    • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
    • Ability to work in a cold environment and handle frozen foods.
