Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic with a Red Seal certification to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on our diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks and associated heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks as well as associated heavy-duty equipment
  • Using various power tools, hand instruments, and cutting-edge equipment
  • Completing daily reports, work orders, and ordering necessary parts
  • Planning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procuring parts
  • Assisting in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
  • 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records
  • Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
  • Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting items up to 100 lbs
  • Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, and climb
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. GFL offers a comprehensive compensation package, including:
