Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Counselling Therapist to join our team at pt Health. As a Counselling Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality counselling services to clients with a range of mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling services to clients, using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs, developing and implementing treatment plans to address their goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of mental health counselling.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health counselling, preferably in a private practice or community agency setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CBT and other evidence-based therapies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
