About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team at Mon Sheong Foundation.

As a PSW, you will play a vital role in providing supportive living services to our residents. You will work under the direction of the Director of Resident Care/Assistant Director of Resident Care to ensure that each resident receives personalized care and support to meet their physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and social needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promote and respect the Residents' Bill of Rights, dignity, and privacy;
  • Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support and/or assistance to residents in their daily living activities;
  • Implement resident care as per each resident care plan to promote residents' well-being in all aspects,
  • Observe, document, and report any differences in residents' behavioural, emotional, social, and physical patterns to registered staff;
  • Implement infection precautions and isolation techniques according to the infection control policies and procedures;
  • Identify and implement emergency measures;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma and a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an Ontario postsecondary institution or district school board; OR
  • A person who is enrolled in an educational program for registered nurses or registered practical nurses and demonstrates adequate skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a Personal Support Worker;
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • 1 year of experience in a long-term care facility;
  • Medical certificate of good physical and mental health;
  • Demonstrated interest in working with elderly with patience, compassion, kindness, and creativity;
  • Ability to accommodate shift changes based on operational needs;
  • Proficiency in oral and written English;
  • Bilingual in Chinese is preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
