Occupational Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at Hunter Express Ltd. as a key member of our risk management department.
Key Responsibilities- Budget Planning and Control: Develop and implement effective budget planning and control strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation and minimize costs.
- Training and Development: Provide comprehensive training and development programs for employers, employees, and the general public to enhance their knowledge and skills in occupational health and safety.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety and health hazards.
- Recruitment and Selection: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and select top talent for the organization.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and illnesses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Health and Safety Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards through regular audits and assessments.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders on health and safety performance and progress.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of health and safety awareness and engagement among employees through regular communication and training.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
- Computer and Technology Skills: Proficiency in MS Access, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines, and a large workload.
- Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgment, and a team player attitude.
