Grand River Personnel Limited is seeking a licensed Millwright to join their team in Kitchener. This is a permanent full-time position on the afternoon and night shift.
The successful candidate will enjoy an hourly rate between $35.00-42.00/hour, depending on experience, and a shift premium of $1.05/hour on the night shift.
All full-time employees at Grand River Personnel Limited will enjoy a comprehensive benefit plan and pension plan.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Millwright License 433A. The ideal candidate will have excellent millwrighting skills, with 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full understanding of Lockout Tag out and energy control
- Inspect machinery and equipment for defects, reporting findings to supervisor
- Repair machines or equipment, dismantling as necessary to gain access to defective parts
- Reassemble machinery, ensuring proper operation
- Use blueprints, drawings, manuals or other specifications to perform required job
- Work collaboratively with outside contractors on repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
- Operate and repair plant support machinery, boilers, softeners, compressors, filters, HVAC pumps, etc.
- Perform welding, soldering, brazing, and use of shop machines
- Troubleshoot basic electrical problems in a safe manner
- Develop and implement preventative/predictive maintenance on all machinery and equipment
- Ensure all equipment operates safely
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment through regular housekeeping and PPE usage
- Actively participate in training new members of the team
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
Requirements:
- Certified Industrial Mechanic/Millwright 433A, with excellent millwrighting skills
- 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred; newly licensed mechanics with completed apprenticeship considered
- Good mechanical knowledge, including compressed air, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical, welding, pumps, and preventative maintenance
- Understanding of production demands and EPP/EPS processing knowledge
- Familiarity with Kurtz and Teubert steam chest moulding machines
- Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Must be a team player, able to work with minimal supervision
- Must have own tools (as defined by the Company)
- Must meet physical requirements of the job
- Good communication skills
- Above-average welding skills are an asset
- Certification for operating Lift Trucks and Aerial Lift equipment in a safe manner, and ability to pass medical evaluation based on provincial standard
- Able to work off shifts and overtime as required
