About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health services to children, youth, and families. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us to deliver evidence-based treatments and interventions that promote positive outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for children, youth, and families.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as consultation and education to other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with our interprofessional team to develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of our patients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, including psychologists and other mental health professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program.
  • Completion of an APA or CPA accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  • Minimum 5 years of formal training and clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health, with at least 2 years of experience as a PhD/DPsych prepared Psychologist.
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment of youth and families with mental health and/or addiction issues.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interprofessional care team.
