Senior Manager, Cost Accounting

Location: Windsor, ON, Canada

Pernod Ricard North America is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Cost Accounting to join our team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing financial activities, coordinating the work of local staff, and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of local distillery Trial Balance reports to consolidated Pernod Ricard Group reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Lead the month-end financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of local distillery Trial Balance submissions.
    • Develop and implement initiatives to improve centralization and internal control compliance, consistent with PR policies and procedures.
    • Apply consistent PR cost accounting methodologies across entities.
    • Implement rolling forecast monthly reporting analysis, consistent with established processes at other PR operations.
    • Assist with Quarterly key cash driver consolidation, analysis, and reporting, focusing on maturing inventories and capital expenditure.
    • Manage and oversee all aspects of consolidated financial statements across management cycles, including budget, forecasting, and strategic planning.
    • Collaborate with divisions, especially operations leads, to perform various ad hoc analysis across sites, including strategic and tactical matters related to budget management, cost of goods analysis, cash flow forecasting, and export market opportunities.
  2. Accounting and Internal Controls
    • Develop and implement accounting and finance procedures.
    • Lead month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, and account reconciliations.
    • Maintain internal control documentation.
    • Determine depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required - CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • International Financial Reporting expertise in a production accounting environment.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
  • Strong comprehension of accounting/financial processes, including budgeting, financial closure, and reporting.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills, with required proficiency in Excel (data analysis, forecasting, and modeling).
  • NetSuite and JDE E1 experience.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills.
